Joomla 1.6 Tutorial issue 7 is now available at shops and Kiosks within Portugal. Exame Informática, Portugal´s leading IT Magazine is featuring a monthly tutorial which has been authored by Navega Bem – Web Design, based on Madeira island.

The magazine issues so far have covered installing Joomla! 1.6 and local server software as well as how to create a template and add navigatation, images and other content. Site authentication, user management, adding search, the main differences between 1.5 and 1.6, adding news articles and breadcrumbs as well as the functionality of the Access Control List (ACL).

This current issue covers amongst other subjects SEO, Meta Tags and Search Engine Friendly URL’s in Joomla! 1.6

The long awaited Joomla! version 1.6 is now available in Beta 13 and packs some digital punches in terms of all round improvements to what has become one of the most powerful CMS frameworks on the planet.

Since the Joomla 1.6 beta 12 release on October 18th, Joomla has fixed approximately 71 issues in the tracker. This progress is directly related to the continued efforts of the Joomla! Bug Squad.

This will be the last tutorial for the moment until Joomla 1.6 has developed into the Release Candidate 1 version.
