The institute of wine, embroidery and handicrafts has launched a brand new web site (www.bordadomadeira.pt) dedicated to Madeira Embroidery. The site is currently available in Portuguese but is forecast to be available in English, French and Italian by the end of the month.

The project was developed by Navega Bem - Web Design based in Funchal, Madeira.
Managing Director Chris Szabo explained “The site has been constructed around the Joomla CMS framework and has been a very involved undertaking. In collaboration with the creative team from IVBAM the site has evolved into a very elegant window to the world of embroidery in Madeira.”

O Barqueiro has launched its brand new site. The highly popular seafood restaurant located on the sunny south coast of Madeira island is the locale of choice for many celebrities.

The site has been developed by Joomla specialists “Navega Bem - Web Design” who are also located in Funchal, Madeira.

The site is very visual and incorporates many images of the special guests who choose to dine at ‘O Barqueiro”.

Reservations can be made on the site and the menus for food, wine and cigars are available.
Site designer Sara Lomelino explained “The site is under constant revision and is being updated almost daily. There is so much going on at the restaurant and we want to share it all with the site viewers”.

What are absolute links?
An absolute link defines the location of the document in total including the protocol required to get the document, the server to get it from, the directory it is located in and the name of the document itself.

An absolute link will look like this:

What are relative links?
A relative link on the other hand takes advantage of the fact that the server knows where the current document is. Thus, if we want to link to another document in the same directory, we don’t need to write out the full URL. All we need to use is the name of the file.

For example, if we are looking at the link in the previous example, and we want to link to a file called index.html in the same directory, we don’t need to write out the entire URL.

A relative link will look like this:
<a href=”index.html”>Home</a>
