For me it is clear that both a blog and the company website need to be integrated on one domain/server. Once a blog is successful and generating a lot of traffic - your website cannot reap any benefit if it is not on the same domain. Search engines will see the two as entirely separate sites.

The 'unified server' presence of your site and blog will result in the search engines creating a much higher value (which is exactly why you went to all the trouble of having a company blog in the first place).

To get the maximum benefit possible from having a company blog is to have it on the very same domain and sub-domain as the company website.

Do you think it matters if the blog is part of the corporate domain or not?

Just looked at your "Grande Real" development and, wow... Very nice implementation of content and features. Your design is brilliant and shows how great CMS design doesn't have to look CMS.

Keep up the great work!

Well, this is really the turning point for me. A well known company has been pushing me into a corner to go with their 'solution' - but you are so right, if I get fed up with the design company I have - I don't need to change a thing... except the company. Thanks.
