For the second year in a row Joomla has won the ‘Best PHP Open Source Content Management System” award for 2007.

Runner up was Drupal and e107.

The judges made some very interesting observations:
“Most notably its good front-end for administrators and end-users, which gives users a simple and traditional company website straight out of the box. Once again, judges commented on the size and responsiveness of the community, which translates to potential problems being dealt with quickly.”

Packt Publishing confirmed that Joomla! 1.5 (which is still a Release Candidate) was the basis for their decision.

The judges also gestured that Joomla! is one of the biggest recent success stories in open source. The first release was only in September 2005 and has since grown to become the most downloaded CMS on the planet.

In my last post about ‘Powerful Linking’ on the Navaga Bem Blog I reported on how you can get an enormous boost in traffic and business by using a blog for your company site.

My post was made on October 29th in the afternoon - On October 30th the next morning a search in www.google.com for ‘Powerful Linking‘ produced a page 1 - position 1 result.

Even I have never seen such a fast return. I am now in position 2 with the digg.com article in first place.
